Black Mirror store appears in Grand Central

Excitement is growing over the mysterious appearance of a ‘Bandersnatch’ store that has materialised in Birmingham’s Grand Central following the release of the Black Mirror episode on December 28th.

Beyond’s Retail Design Management team works closely with the Hammerson owned shopping centre to oversee the fit-out of new stores and manage tenants within the centre. Our RDM team was excited to work on the design delivery of this 80s style pop up, inspired by the WHSmith store seen in the Bandersnatch episode.

The store, that will remain closed to the public, has gained attention from Black Mirror fans for its incredible attention to detail and thoughtful design, bringing to life aspects from the interactive episode such as the advertisements for the Bandersnatch game, ‘The Lives of Jerome F Davies’ book and even iced gems left by the cash register which appeared in the Netflix episode can be spotted in this surreal store.

Tucker’s Newsagent & Games can be found in Grand Central, Birmingham.
